Tex McPhilip in Quest for the Papacy is a simple game about a simple man. Tex is someone whose past is shrouded in mystery insofar as it just does not matter very much and did not warrant the time or effort necessary to be invented. The game begins with Tex lacking direction in his life, but that all changes when a vision of the Virgin Mary gives him the divine mission of questing to become the next Pope. Thus, his life gains direction and he is off to murder any competition.
Needless to say by this point, Quest for the Papacy is not for the easily offended. Sacrilege and gratuitous violence abound, but it's all crudely drawn and executed, so it probably is not enough to incur divine wrath at this point.
