I have been working on this game for a year now and still there is no demo. I am really working for that though. I do have a lot of stuff done on this game and really have worked hard on a lot of it.

At current I have completed:

  • Full introduction sequence
  • Over a dozen original songs
  • Two dozen rooms
  • Tons of views and character Sprites
  • Full Story and Geography
  • Interactive Map transport
  • Increasable Character Stats
  • Complete Battle System
  • 3 other interactive minigames
  • and other small bells and whistles

That can sound like a lot, but I haven't been working on it all from beginning to end, so some of this stuff comes in later in the game and wouldn't be in a demo, which is why I think I haven't gotten that out yet. I never thought about putting out a demo at first because this was supposed to be the completion of the "Knight's Quest" demo which I put out, admittingly with a whole new aspect put on it.

But be looking around for a demo. How soon? Can't say really...I'm tired of being wrong Wink But it will make an appearance.

That's quite a list of accomplishments. As well as being a complete game this could be a great demo of what SCI0 is capable of! Enjoyed Knight's Quest, looking forward to the new demo. Take your time, though.

I am glad to see that the project wasn't completely killed off (even though sciprogramming.com appears to be).
I was impressed with what I had seen so far.  I would say that it is definately beyond what people saw in Knight's Quest.

Betrayed Alliance definately has taken on a new dimension to the very short and narrow "Knight's Quest"...it's a whole other entity now...which is why a demo seems like a reasonable request.

Check out the midis for this game here: you can listen and/or download them for free. There are about a dozen on here.

Here you can see most of the rooms in the game so far. (six of which were designed by Trodoss) You can tell which are his because they are awesome Wink

Click on the picture to see it larger

I think almost all the rooms are finished for what is needed for the demo...maybe two more. They are by far the most time-consuming and tedious for me to do.

Please let me know what you think of the music/artwork, and if you want to help, please let me know!

Funny references you put in there. I see Roger Wilco, Rosella, Leisure Suit Larry Laffer, and Laura Bow in the 10th picture. Other than that, great pictures, too bad that it's a JPG. I really wanted to see more detail. Keep up the great work,

Got to absolutely love the skull and the straw-roofed house and the room at the top right. The bridge and the graveyard aren't as great as the rest of the pics. Can't wait til this's released though Grin

Fantastic to hear your guys' feedback! It's funny how I said you can tell which pics are trodoss's because they are awesome and kon-tiki singled out many rooms that trodoss drew;) He definately has a great style!

After playing through Sierra games lately, I am amazed how great their pics are. Those guys made some real art within the limitations!

I hope that some of the ones that "aren't as great as the rest" will get some liveliness with the addition of extra view elements...we shall see Wink

Long time, no update.

There has been a lot of progress. Things are shaping up very well and most the rooms have a level of activity I am pleased with.

One thing for sure, this is going to be a fan-made game like none before it. I've put a LOT of time into it and I will not let it all go to waste. That's not to say it will be perfect, but when compared with my earlier games and demos (Quest for the Cheat, Knight's Quest, and New Year's Mystery), it is far above their quality.

I just wanted to let you all know that it is still in development, as I know how many anticipated games go unfinished (I remember wanting JummyBummy 2 since I found this website 4 or 5 years ago!!). No offense to Eigen or anything, it's actually meant as a compliment!
